HOME OF HOPE-ZIMBABWE

Home of Hope – Zimbabwe is a small children’s home located in rural northeastern Zimbabwe in the scenic area of Nyanga (about 225 km/140 miles east of Harare).  It is operated by the Sisters of the Divine Child Order of the Mutare Diocese of the Catholic Church.

The Friends of Picardy Drive (FOPD) and HAZ collaborating in an effort to establish a case-management model for the care of the children taken in at the Home of Hope.  The home takes in infants and children from the local community, orphaned or otherwise affected by HIV/AIDS.  The home has been modeled after the largely successful Mother of Peace Orphanage in Mutoko, and offers lifelong support for the children taken in.

Mission:

Our mission is to help develop the home into providing the highest quality of care for the resident children, and to ensure transparency and economy in the administration of the home.

Objectives:

• Help establish a case management model for the care of the children
• Promote donor awareness and support for the home
• Provide ongoing technical assistance and resource support for the home
