The Chitungwiza Orphans and Vulnerable Children Project was originally conceived of by two pastors at the Chitungwiza Unit K Baptist Church, just outside Harare. Out of a very humble structure, Pastor Jena and the late Pastor Chinamatira were moved to offer support and practical assistance to the many children in their community, who were in one way or the other, victims of HIV/AIDS. We were humbled to be brought together with Pastor Jena and the Late Pastor Chinamatira, in late 2006. In early 2007, HAZ together with The Friends of Picardy Drive started offering support to the efforts of the Chitungwiza Baptist Church, and together, we hope to offer sustainable support to the children of Chitungwiza, who have either been orphaned, or live vulnerable lives, as a result of HIV/AIDS. Mission: Our mission is to offer sustainable support to The Chitungwiza Unit K Baptis Church, in their efforts to restore childhood to the orphans and vulnerable children of the Chitungwiza Unit K community, who have been affected by HIV/AIDS.
