About ZARMarketplace

The Zimbabwe AIDS Relief Marketplace (ZARMarketplace) is an initiative of HIV/AIDS|ZIMBABWE CHARITY, INC (HAZ) and the Friends of Picardy Drive (FOPD), aimed at raising revenue to sustain our charitable activities in Zimbabwe, while engaging the global community in a fun and mutually rewarding way.

Why Support ZARMarketplace:

All the revenue raised through the sale of products on ZARMarketplace, as well as through the advertisements that appear of ZARMarketplace, goes to support the various projects we are engaged in and that support our clients in Zimbabwe. AS an HIV/AIDS organization with a focus on Zimbabwe, our projects aim to:

• Provide free medical care or access to such care, to Zimbabweans living with HIV/AIDS
• Provide living support to the families and children of individuals infected with HIV/AIDS
• Provide educational support to children infected with HIV/AIDS or directly affected by HIV/AIDS
• Provide a platform for open discussion of HIV/AIDS topics and issues pertinent to Zimbabweans
• Provide access to pertinent and accurate information on HIV/AIDS as it relates to Zimbabwe and Zimbabweans

We believe that aside from the philanthropic benefits we get from your support, we are providing a platform for supporting vendors and businesses to also associate their brand with social activism.

The Products:

The products you find here come from four major groups of vendors:

• ZAR Products are supplied directly by HAZ and FOPD , with 100% of the sale proceeds going to support our projects

• PRIVATE SELLERS donating 10% of their sale proceeds to support our projects

• NON-PROFIT SELLERS donating 15% of their sale proceeds to support our projects

• AFFILIATE SELLERS donating varying percentage of sale proceeds to support our projects.  This category also includes products from various associate programs we hold membership to (such as Amazon, eBay and others)

Products indicated or categorized as Gold Seal products may be supplied by vendors from any one of the above categories, with the vendor in this case choosing to donate 100% of the sales proceeds (instead of a portion of the sales proceeds) to our projects.  Gold Seal Products are indicated with the Gold Seal Product logo shown to the left.  Purchasing Gold Seal Products provides the most support and benefit to our projects..

Accountability:

ZARMarketplace is part of the non-profit initiatives of HAZ and FOPD, and thus all income from ZARMarketplace is reported according to prevailing and relevant laws of the USA where both HAZ and FOPD are headquartered, and from where ZARMarketplace is administered.  We make reports of our projects publicly available through the HIV/AIDS|ZIMBABWE CHARITY, INC (HAZ) web site, as well as through the GuideStar.org web site.

The Fun Part:

The new Zimbabwe AIDS Relief Marketplace (ZARMarketplace) is an innovative online marketplace which will generate much needed income for our projects in Zimbabwe, while allowing you, the opportunity to buy and sell unique products from Zimbabwe and around the world.

The Rewarding Part:

Some of the products you purchase on ZARMarketplace will be rewarding in their own right, and for those who get the opportunity to sell on ZARMarketplace, the income obtained from your sales will be a welcome reward as well.  However, we believe that the greatest reward will be in knowing that for every sale made on ZARMarketplace, a portion or all of the sales revenue will go to directly benefit Zimbabweans living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.   All of the revenue collected by HAZ/FOPD through the ZARMarketplace initiative will be directed towards our projects in Zimbabwe.
